On 24 June 2025, from 6pm to 7.30pm, Expertise France and the Institut des Relations Internationales et Stratégiques (IRIS) are organising a hybrid online and face-to-face conference-debate in the IRIS amphitheatre in Paris on the subject of "As multilateralism is called into question, what alternatives are there for balanced international cooperation?" This event is part of the publication of the White Paper ‘10 proposals for the future of international cooperation’ with IRIS researchers.
This White Paper is the culmination of several months of particularly close cooperation between Expertise France and the Institut de relations internationales et stratégiques (IRIS).
In a world where rules and alliances are in flux, and where global issues are facing an overall decline in contributions from the main donors, what are the new prospects for international cooperation?
The work carried out jointly by IRIS and Expertise France in drawing up this White Paper, which sets out 10 proposals for the future of international cooperation, shows that it is necessary to pool our activities while respecting their specific features in order to achieve high-impact results that will enable more harmonious development of our planet.
The richness of the exercise lies in demonstrating that the topics covered form a whole that responds to the main challenges to be met in the years to come. The ten headings that make up the structure of this White Paper are as many themes for building more efficient global cooperation.
